
How to open Quick Settings
Quick settings can be found in the bottom right corner of your taskbar. There are 2 different ways of opening and accessing the quick start panel.
Option 1
You can use a keyboard shortcut to open the panel…
Press ‘Windows key’ + ‘A’
This will trigger the quick settings to open
Option 2
In this option you simply drag your mouse to the bottom right of the taskbar…
Then click on the ‘Wi-Fi, Sound and Battery’ button
This is the standard way of opening the Quick Settings panel
Features of Quick Settings
The new Windows 11 Quick Settings is a replacement of the Action Centre found in Windows 10 and has some similar features. Here’s what you can find in the Windows 11 Quick Settings panel.
Included:
- Quick access to connect or disconnect from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Airplane mode
- Battery saver
- Focus assist
- Accessibility
- Night light
Additionally there are sliders so you can adjust the screen brightness and the volume. A battery charge indicator and a button to take you into windows settings can also be found along the bottom of the panel.
Some menu items also include secondary options, such as the Accessibility button. Once clicked the panel will bring up new options within accessibility, for example, magnifier, colour filters, narrator and more.
Customise your Quick Settings
To customise your Quick Settings menu, click the ‘pen’ button located next to the ‘settings’ button in the bottom right corner.
Once clicked, the pencil icon will turn the other icons in the menu grey, from here you can remove or add other settings by clicking the small ‘pin’ or ‘unpin’ buttons.
A few of the additional features you can to your menu include:
- Connect
- Keyboard layout
- Mobile hotspot
- Nearby sharing
- Project
- Rotation lock
If you add all of these, the Quick Settings menu will automatically expand in order to fit the new buttons.
