Turn On or Off Fast Start-up in Windows 11

Fast Start-up on Windows 11 allows your computer to start up faster after a shutdown. A lot of Windows 11 systems may come with Fast Start-up already enabled by default. However if you want to turn Fast Start-up on or off in Windows 11 this is how.

  1. First you need to go to the Control Panel (if this isn’t on your desktop, open the start menu, search and open the Control Panel).
  2. Next click on the Hardware and Sound category
  3. After this click on the Power Options sub-category
  4. Options will appear in a panel on the left, select ‘choose what the power buttons do’
  5. You will now be presented with power options, here click ‘change settings that are currently unavailable’
  6. Once selected you can now chose to ‘Turn on fast start-up’, this will enable first start-up

Likewise you can follow these same steps and untick the ‘Turn on fast start-up’ box, on the final step, to turn off fast start-up.
