Method 1:
Use winver to find out what version of Windows 11 you’re running, this is arguably the quickest method.
- Press ‘Windows Key’ + ‘R’ to open ‘Run’
- Type ‘winver’ into the text box and enter
- This will open an ‘About Windows’ panel, showing which version you are currently running
Method 2:
This setting is a more familiar process, of using the settings panel to discover your Windows 11 version.
- Press ‘Windows Key’ + ‘I’ to open settings
- While in the ‘System’ sub category click on ‘About’ on the right hand side
- The ‘Windows Specifications’ panel should then show your version details
Method 3:
Another way to find out your Windows 11 version through the backend is using the Command Prompt, this will only show the basics of your version details.
- Search for ‘Command Prompt’ in the Windows 11 start menu
- Once in the Command Prompt window, type ‘ver’ and enter

The fourth method involve the Windows 11 control panel. This will open up the relevant page in settings.

- Type ‘msinfo32’ and enter
- This will display the System Information window
